Monthly Maintenance
Every month, check your vehicle’s tire pressure and fluid levels. This includes brake, transmission, window washer, and power steering fluids as well as the coolant reservoir. Also, check your oil dipstick to make sure you’re not low or driving with dirty oil. Also, inspect both interior and exterior lights.
Maintenance at Six Months or 8,000+ Miles
At six months or 8,000 miles, whichever comes first, it’s time to change the engine oil and filter and rotate the tires. At our RAM service center, we can give you the comprehensive oil change service your truck needs, which includes fluid checks and top-offs, as well as filter replacement.
16,000 Mile or 12-Month Maintenance
At the one-year or 16,000-mile point, your vehicle needs another oil and oil filter change and tire rotation. It’s time for more inspections too. This includes inspecting the engine air cleaner filter and air conditioning filter. Inspect the brake linings, exhaust system, and front suspension. In general, look over all parts for wear, damage, or looseness, and replace aged or damaged parts as needed.
20,000 Miles
In addition to the above inspections, repairs, and refilling of fluids, it’s time to check the brakes, tie rods, and front suspension. Adjust or replace as needed. After 30,000 miles both small and large jobs need attention. This includes:
- Engine and cabin filter replacement
- CV/Universal joint inspection
- Spark plug replacement
- Exhaust system inspection
